We present a home-style take on a beverage from our latest drinks list. It's a batch prepared mix which is packed with the essence of the Christmas time, rendering it ideal for your festive gathering. Reserve the remaining syrup for brunch beverages, puddings, or to mix more rounds of this cocktail.

To make the Citrus Syrup (yields 750ml)
300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g fine sugar
To make the Drink (makes 850ml, to serve 10)
400ml premium vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (as made above)
A few cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Instructions
To prepare the Cordial: Combine the listed components into a saucepan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, mixing until the sugar dissolves. Then, take off the stove allowing it to reach room temperature completely. Pour into a sterilised bottle, cap it and store in the fridge, it can be stored for up to one month.
For the Batch Mix: Pour every liquid ingredients into a big jug, leave to sit for an hour, then strain preferably using cheesecloth, to ensure it's perfectly clear.
When ready to serve: Pour 85ml of the batch mix to a mixing glass containing ice, gently stirring gently for about 60 seconds to chill. Pour into a chilled martini glass or similar, garnish with a few cranberries and complete it with a light spray of the essential oil above the glass.
