Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-term coach Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's retrieving strategy and regular emotional displays on court had caused some to question if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.
But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the final five points to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet defended four initial chances in a competitive third set before the champion won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, he clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
